Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 (2017)

Director:  James Gunn

Peter Quill:  Chris Pratt

The ensemble cast of  this film makes it work. Instead of depending on one super hero, her we have a collection of questionable heroes working together, all with  different motivations.

In this film we have Peter meeting his father, Ego, played by Kurt Russell. The story line doesn't really work all that well. It is light years away from something like Blade Runner 2049, but that is not really what this movie is trying to be.

The Guardians don't take themselves too seriously, and we aren't supposed to take them too seriously either.

Guardians are more comedic, than science fiction, and it works on that level.
